The City of Solna is central to the region’s life science environment. Solna is home to a solid concentration of businesses, research activities and healthcare actors, with academia, healthcare and industry in close proximity. Urban development is creating attractive, functional environments where different businesses and bodies can set up, develop and collaborate. The Hagastaden development is one clear example of this, where a dense, knowledge-intensive district is emerging focused on research, innovation and health.
The City of Solna is also working to create meeting places and encourage dialogue between different actors. Here, one example is Solna Frukostbricka, a recurring breakfast meeting with businesses that focuses on different themes. In March 2026, this event brought together almost 100 actors from business, academia and the public sector to discuss life science and future developments.
