As an association of local businesspeople, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce works to promote a thriving and competitive capital region. Our network of members spans companies of different sizes from every industry, with an emphasis on Stockholm and Uppsala. In Capital of Life, we have a strategic, connective role as an active voice for business and as a driving force in strengthening the region’s international competitiveness.

The Chamber of Commerce takes a broad and long-term approach to life science questions through analysis, meeting places and advocacy work, as it seeks to create a better climate for individuals and businesses and a life science cluster that benefits patients, businesses and society. Our starting point is that life science is one of the basic industries of Sweden and the capital region, an industry that saves lives, creates an abundance of jobs and makes the whole country healthier and wealthier.

The Chamber of Commerce is in constant contact with companies, politicians and other decision-makers on the environment, challenges and opportunities for businesses in the Stockholm-Uppsala region. In life science, we emphasise the importance of establishing faster application of innovations, stronger links between research, healthcare and industry, a well-functioning ecosystem and an attractive region capable of responding to ever tougher international competition.
